West Visayas State University – College of Medicine successfully produced 94 new doctors from the 94 takers of Batch Medicus Devoveus on the rencently concluded Physician Licensure Examination (PLE), concluded last September 7-8 and 14-15, 2018.
The streak is consistent with March examination result where the college garnering a hundred percent pasissing rate and Clinton Rabadon placing at top one, the first in the history of the college. The performance of the students in licensure examinations is congruous with the college’s goal of producing of a five-star physicians, branded as Taga-West MD, that exhibit excellence and sound medical knowledge among others.
The national passing rate was 84.96% with 4,006 new doctors emerging victorious from the 4,716 hopefuls. Federico Peralta IV of University of Santo Tomas aced this batch with an overall rating of 90.92%. On the other hand, Ateneo de Manila Universit, Cebu Institute of Medicine, and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila were ranked top performing schools.
